Which platform should I choose?

If you want a blog with optional shop features, WordPress + WooCommerce is the most flexible. For a serious online store, PrestaShop is purpose-built for e-commerce. For a simple small shop, OpenCart gets you up quickly. For publishing, newsletters, and memberships, Ghost is the cleanest option.

Do I need a VPS or can I use a Cloud server?

For a personal blog or small store with under 5,000 monthly visitors, a Cloud server is sufficient. PrestaShop and WooCommerce with a large catalog or high traffic need a VPS minimum. Each platform page includes recommended configurations for your traffic level.

Can you help me migrate from shared hosting?

You have full root access, so you control the migration process entirely. Transfer your files via SFTP, import your database, update your DNS, and you're live. Many tutorials are available for each platform.

Is SSL included?

SSL is not pre-installed, but you can install Let's Encrypt for free in minutes with Certbot. Full root access means you control your entire SSL configuration.

How does self-hosting compare to Shopify or Wix?
